Our volunteer van drivers transport families to and from Madison’s local hospitals, so they can focus on getting their child well without worrying about getting lost in Madison. During their 6-hour weekly shift, van drivers ensure the families in our House are comfortable by shopping for groceries and other necessities and by picking up donations from around the Madison area.
Volunteer van drivers transport families to and from the hospitals and clinics. They help families with personal errands, like trips to the pharmacy, grocery store, mall, etc., as time allows. In addition to helping families maneuver around Madison, volunteer van drivers help with administrative errands for the House staff, e.g., Post Office, bank, etc.
Commitment: Van drivers work in six-hour shifts between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.. We schedule two shifts each day (8:00 am-2:00 pm and 2:00 pm-8:00 pm). We offer regular weekly shifts as well as substitute positions. Van drivers also complete a short training program. If you’re at least 25 years of age with a good driving record, we’d like to talk with you.
