Forever Grateful

September 29th, 2021 | Our Families

On August 15, our Remi Jean was born in a small town in western Wisconsin. By the next day, she was admitted to the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison with a heart defect and a down syndrome diagnosis. The Ronald McDonald House was there for us in our time of need when it felt like our world flipped upside down. We stayed at RMHC Madison for 30 days, as our home is over 1.5 hours away. It was our home away from home with comfortable beds, fresh homemade or catered meals, and the ability to be as independent as possible while we traveled back and forth from the hospital all day and night to care for our newborn baby. My birthday is on August 31, and I asked family and friends on Facebook to donate to RMHC-Madison for a birthday fundraiser. Our incredible support system donated $1,100 directly toward the House!

As we head home, we are completely humbled and grateful for this experience. We will be back sometime this winter when our baby has her open-heart surgery. We know we will never be able to thank RMHC enough for what they have done for us in our time of need, but at least we could give them some support through the fundraiser and some recognition deep down from the bottom of our hearts.

Thank you RMHC- Madison!
