Celebrating 27 Years of Keeping Families Close

May 22nd, 2020 | Our Impact

The Ronald McDonald House in Madison was born out of a huge outpouring of community support 27 years ago. A dedicated and generous group of people had a vision for a place where families could stay together near their sick child without incurring the financial hardship of being far from home. The recently completed Building on Hope Campaign to renovate and expand the House was no different. The love and support expressed by the Madison community are what made this campaign a success. We opened the doors on the nearly doubled in size House in fall 2019.

In our long history, we have also opened a Ronald McDonald Family Room located inside SSM Health – St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison which serves nearly 1,900 families each year. In 2003, RMHC-Madison launched the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program providing dental and medical care to uninsured children in the state line area in partnership with Mercy Health.

We have a lot to celebrate here at RMHC-Madison. Most of all, we want to celebrate the Madison community for its generosity and support over the past 27 years. We couldn’t have done it without you! We invite you to visit our blog for stories from guest families, volunteers, and supporters who have made an impact on our organization throughout the years. Be sure to check back often, as we will continue to share stories throughout the year.
