December to Remember

December 14th, 2023 | News

We are overwhelmed by the love and support we received from our entire RMHC-Madison community this December. From giving trees and wish list drives to creative fundraisers and toy drives, our three core programs and more importantly, our families, have been flooded with gifts this holiday season.

Creative Fundraisers

  • Rejuvenation Spa hosted a fundraiser to benefit RMHC-Madison on December 14
  • The 3rd Annual “Love for Bronson” holiday stockings were delivered on December 15. These are donated each year in honor of Bronson Bullock who passed away nearly 3 years ago. Stockings were full of toiletries, card games, small children’s toys, socks, and gift cards. The family also donated MANY items off our Wish List. The Bullock Family truly keeps Bronson’s memory alive by honoring him in this way.
  • In the 9th year of Lexie’s Legacy Annual Toy Drive, the group went above and beyond yet again! On December 19, a 16-foot pod from Lexie’s Legacy was unloaded and the Community Room downstairs was FULL of toys thanks to this big-hearted group honoring the memory of a friend. This generous donation provides toys to guest families during the holidays and fills the Toy Depot year round, bringing smiles and laughter to the children who stay here.
  • Social media influencers, Melissa & Katie (@everydaymandk), hosted 12 Days of Giving on Instagram. On the 6th day, they chose to give back to their community. Their followers graciously selected RMHC-Madison as the charity of choice and raised $2,500 after a two-day crowdfunding campaign.
  • Yoga instructor, Molly Siebert Einck, hosted a donation-only Vinyasa yoga class to benefit the House. Through this fundraiser, over $1,200 was raised! Molly used the funds to purchase items off our Wish List and donated $550 in gift cards to local businesses.
  • Tony Kelbel from Drifty’s Canoe Rental also stopped by the House with a generous check from a third-party fundraiser they held this summer–$1 from every canoe, tube or kayak rental. Their family has been frequent visitors to the House during their son’s medical journey this year and found an innovative way to pay it forward.
  • Collegiate 4-H collected items to construct care kits for families that arrive to the House

12 Days of Wish List

  • Our 12 Days of Wish List remains open through the end of the month, but we would be remiss not to thank all of those that helped us secure much-needed kitchen items
  • A highlight of the campaign included the Levy Giving Fund committing to purchasing the 12th item on our list, a water and ice machine, for the kitchen in the House! Guest families, volunteers and staff are all absolutely thrilled for this machine to be installed in early 2024.
