Fundraising Guidelines

Start Planning Early. Madison has lots of cultural, sporting and other special events. Make sure your prospective event date does not conflict with other major events going on in the community. Also, check with our office to see if the date is clear on our event calendar.

In order to best support you in your planning efforts and to make sure we fully understand what you have in mind, download and complete the Fundraising Information Form and fax it to the Director or Marketing and Communications at (608) 232-4670. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison will make its best effort to:

  • Provide brochures or other written materials for your project or event.
  • Distribute information provided by you to our Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers.
  • Schedule tours of the House and/or Family Room to members of your group.
  • Provide volunteers, if the expected net revenue will exceed more than $2500.

ALL PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS MUST BE REVIEWED BY RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF MADISON PRIOR TO DISTRIBUTION. Since Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison enjoys strong brand recognition, we want to make sure that our name is being used appropriately. With a signed letter of agreement, we will provide you with our logo for your use. Sponsor is authorized to use the name “Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison” – only in connection with the fundraising event. The use of the name or logo without our express written approval is prohibited.

Keep expenses to 25% of gross revenue. This standard allows us to meet guidelines set by external agencies such as the Better Business Bureau and our own internal standards. The purpose is to ensure that a great majority of the gross revenue goes to our mission and not to fundraising expenses. Exceptions can be made for first time events and under special circumstances.
