Providing Meals That Heal

January 28th, 2021

As RMHC-Madison continues to navigate the effects of COVID-19, we understand the best way to reduce risks to our families, staff, and volunteers is to limit or suspend many of our beloved programs including the Dinner Program, Augie’s Lunches with Love, and the Baking and Casserole program.

We not only feel the loss of these incredible volunteers, but the expense of feeding our families is creating a financial challenge again this year.

You can ensure our guest families still have the comfort provided by a hot meal each night along with portable pantry items for their time at the hospital by making a gift today.

How to support the meal program

It costs approximately $25 per day to provide basic meals for one person. We do not know when our volunteer meal program can safely be fully reinstated.  We are actively working with local restaurants to purchase prepared meals for our families, understanding this community partnership serves several important needs.  Restaurants like Longtable Beer Café, Brasserie V, Novanta, Frostwood Kitchens, Naples 15, McDonald’s, Glass Nickle Pizza, and Panera are just some of the restaurants we partnered with last year.

If you would like to make a secure online donation to support our meal program, please visit www.rmhcmadison.org/get-involved/prepare-a-meal.

Other ways to give

Any level of support is appreciated whether monetary or through gift cards. Here are other ways you can support our programs:

  • Donate gift cards from local restaurants.
  • Shop our Amazon wish list
  • Consider a corporate or major donation

For questions regarding a donation, please contact Deborah Still, Director of Development at 608-232-4668. For general questions about the meal program, please contact Tara Hensley at 608-232-4671.

Thank you for your continued support during these unprecedented times. We look forward to brighter days ahead!
