RMHC Heart Wall: An Inspiring Tribute of Love and Remembrance

September 26th, 2022 | News

It is not uncommon for people to look for signs of hope to guide them through uncertain times.

At RMHC-Madison, staff, volunteers, and supporters wrap uncertainty with love as they provide comfort, care and kindness to guest families whom they rarely know. We exist so families can remain together during critical medical crises. Hope Park and the Heart Wall offer signs of hope to keep families going during tough times.

Hohl-Wuest Hope Park opened two years ago during the throws of the pandemic, made possible by the momentum of the Building on Hope capital campaign (2019) which nearly doubled the size of the Ronald McDonald House. The heart wall lines the perimeter fence of Hope Park, leading guest families and providers by an outdoor stairwell to the American Family Children’s Hospital.  This beautiful greenspace with playground, SportCourt, garden, and water feature has become an important respite and gathering area for the RMHC community.

Hope Park is a symbol of goodness on so many levels. Nearly 150 red, blue and yellow heart wall tiles in various sizes adorn the fence with tributes of love and inspiration. These tiles honor time spent with RMHC as a caregiver, volunteer, furry friend, or benefactor and are a heart-warming testament to this incredible mission.

Add a heart wall tile of your own this fall and watch the messages grow. Whether you have been personally touched by this mission or simply want to provide a ray of inspiration for families, this is a lasting opportunity to be part of a heartfelt community.

Tiles can be ordered online in your choice of blue, red or yellow as 6”, 8” or 10” circles. The deadline for fall tile installation is October 28, 2022. If you prefer to print a hard copy of the donor form instead of purchasing a heart online, you can from the link above and email or mail to:
