Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison Temporarily Restricts Visitors

January 25th, 2020 | News

Our guests’ safety is the top priority at the Ronald McDonald House in Madison. Because of an uptick in Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and widespread influenza activity, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison has temporarily restricted visitors to the Ronald McDonald House, following the lead of the American Family Children’s Hospital.

Starting today, Saturday, January 25, children under age 12 will not be allowed as visitors in the House. This will NOT impact guest families staying at the House. A notice has been distributed to all current guest families.

Many hospitalized children are acutely ill with compromised immune systems, and influenza or a respiratory infection such as RSV can exacerbate an already-difficult health condition.

While it is expected these restrictions will be temporary, there is no specific end date identified at this time.

Thank you for your support as we implement this change to protect our guests’ safety.
