Smart Motors Toyota Provides Transportation for RMHC-Madison Families

This year marks 10 years that Smart Motors Toyota, a family-owned business in Madison, has provided a vehicle for RMHC-Madison to provide transportation for guest families. Every two years Smart Motors replaces the minivan with a current model.

“We are grateful for this decade-long partnership and the generosity of the Smart family. The vehicle loan enables us to shuttle patients and families to the hospital and other area locations without any cost to them. Our volunteers also use the van to deliver lunches to families at the American Family Children’s Hospital through the Augie’s Lunches with Love program,” said Shauna Thayer, Director of Marketing and Communications.

Often times when families come to stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Madison, they have traveled a far distance seeking medical care for their sick or injured child. Some families arrive without a vehicle and some are hoping to reduce the additional costs of driving or using public transportation. Because of the vehicle loan, RMHC-Madison is able to provide a reliable shuttle service to guest families.
